Manufacturer: Merkel (Fortuna) Suhl Model: DRILLING Side by Side Action: Side by Side with Lower Rifle Barrel Gauge: 16 gauge Caliber: 7x65r Serial: 491663 Barrel: 25.5 inches Length of Pull: 14.5 and 13.5 inches Finish: Highly Detailed Engraving with Gold Details Stock: High Grade Walnut with Engraved Features This is a BEAUTIFUL fully engraved Merkel, Fortuna SUHL Drilling….a very RARE find! The barrels are 25.5 inches long, 16 gauge over 7x65r rifle with perfect bores. The 16 gauge barrels are Full, Modified chokes. The box lock action is hand engraved by someone that had to be a Master Engraver. It has a hunting dog chasing a Wild Boar on the left side and an Elk on the right. The hunting scenes have gold details, scroll and stippled relief on all sides. The action has brass cocking indicators next to the release lever. The safety automatically activates a flip up rear leaf sight when switched to the rifle barrel. The stocks are beautiful hand checkered wood with Montecarlo cheek and detailed hand engraved features. The length of pull is 14.5 and 13.5 inches to the double triggers. The overall condition is fantastic, no scuffs or dings on the metal or wood, light handle marks. This includes a Kahles 3-9x42 scope (heavy three post reticle) with quick release claw mounts. It is in a LIKE NEW fitted Italian Emmebi case with brown felt lining and gold Merkel logo.
