Rizzini Round Body EL, 20Ga, 3", 28" bls, signed by Cesare Giovanelli, NEW
Rizzini Round Body EL, 20GA, 3”, 28” bls, signed by Cesare Giovanelli, NEW
New condition in maker’s case, this rounded action is engraved and signed “Botega C. Giovanelli” on the underside of the receiver, left of the trigger bow. This is from the same engravers’ studio that engraves many Beretta SO3 and SO5 EELLs. A close look shows the scroll and game scenes are masterfully executed.
This great handling little shotgun features a 28”Cr.Mo. steel barrels, chrome-lined, with 3” chamber and forcing cones and are bored .626” and comes with 5 steel shot chokes. The top rib is solid tapered from 8 to 6mm ending with a silver bead sight. The center rib is also solid. The barrels are finished with a glossy blue and fitted with five interchangeable factory nickel-plated flush-fitting screw chokes. Other features include an adjustable single selective trigger, a manual safety (preferred by clay target shooters), and automatic ejectors.
The action is a low profile, coin finished round body box lock. Its low profile is due to its hinge stub pins in lieu of an axle and lock up is positive with a horizontal bolt in the bottom of the breech face which engages two lugs on the barrel block.
The stock is stunning with emblazoned dark figure of No.3 Circasian walnut that is finished by hand with a deep rich hand-rubbed oil. It includes a hand checkered round-knob pistol grip (Prince of Wales grip), with checkered round forearm with Anson push-button release and inlaid with a diamond shape of engraved silver. The hand checkering is generous on the pistol grip and fully wraps around the forearm at 26 lpi. Total weight is an astounding 5 lbs. 14 oz. Stock dimensions are 1 ½” x 2 ¼“ x 14 3/8” to its checkered butt with neutral cast for right or left hand. These are perfect dimensions for today’s shooters and great for those long days in the field!
Bautista Rizzini shotguns are among the finest field type shotguns made. A mono block is used to show the superb game-scene hand-engraving with two game birds in flight with scenic backgrounds bordered with a gold inlay and the maker’s name in a banner underneath, on both sides; then surrounded by deep-chiseled arabesque scroll-work fully covering the receiver, its top tang and the top action lever. The engraving is cut precisely and shaded to add depth. The trigger bow is also engraved and extends into a long tang coming to a point running the full length of the pistol grip, tied down with two engraved screws.
All the major parts are hand fitted and hand finished. The care and craftsmanship taken in building this model is second to none.
