Wm. Cashmore 20 Bore Pigeon Hammergun with 32” Nitro Steel Barrels.
Description: *** SOLD *** Handsome and unique Wm. Cashmore 20 bore barlock hammergun with 32” barrels and 3” chambers. Being a 20 bore hammergun with 32” barrels makes this a unique and very rare configuration for a pigeon gun made by the renowned maker, William Cashmore. I have never seen another like it. Manufactured “Between the Wars” in the period 1920 - 25 this great handling pigeon gun has lots of residual case coloring, full engraving, and circular rebounding hammers that sit below the shooter’s line of sight when cocked. The action may be opened with the hammers cocked. Cashmore No. 19183 has a cross bolt, sideclips, and extractors. Weight is 7lb. *** The 32” nitro steel barrels are chambered for 3” and 2-3/4” shotshells. The barrels have shiny bores but some minor scratches and wear on the bluing. There is a small area of light surface rust on the right barrel about eight inches from the muzzle that has been addressed. The barrels are topped by a tapered raised solid crosshatched “pigeon style” rib. The top of the right barrel is inscribed “Wm. Cashmore. Maker”. The top of the left barrel is inscribed “Steelhouse Lane. Birmingham”. The right barrel is bored 0.618 with a constriction of 0.010 for Light Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.035. The left barrel is bored 0.617 and has a constriction of 0.013 for Modified. Minimum wall thickness is 0.038. *** The pistol grip stock and splinter forearm are made of nicely figured European walnut. The checkering is in good condition. There are a few minor handling marks on the stock from normal usage. The length of pull is 15” including a 7/8” recoil pad. *** This 20 bore Cashmore pigeon hammer gun is nicely balanced and handles very well. Cashmore was known for the quality and handling characteristics of his pigeon guns and you can see why when you pick this one up. Great chance to own a unique and rare hammer double you can enjoy in the ring or on the range or in the field. *** Please note that photographs are part of the description. I am an FFL and will need a copy of your dealer's FFL license. Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection period which begins when the item is delivered to your FFL dealer or to a shipping address designated by the purchaser in the case of a gun classified as an Antique. Returns at buyer’s expense. SOLD |
