L. Santina Bernardelli 20 Gauge Sidelock 2-Barrel Set
Description:
Superb L. Santina Bernardelli, Gardone V.T. Italy 20 Gauge two barrel set manufactured in 1972 with 28" and 30" Boehler Steel( Austrian) extractor barrels with 3" chambers and so proved. Solid raised file cut ribs and brass front beads. Bores are excellent in both. Barrel flats are engine turned.
28" Barrels(F/F) - Bores measure .633 right and left. Chokes .028 right and .030 left.
30" Barrels(M/F) - Bores measure .632 right and .633 left. Chokes .018 right and .026 left.
The sidelock action retains 98% vivid case colors and 90% coverage of hand cut floral and scroll engraving. The water table is engine turned. Disc set strikers and hidden third bite. Double triggers with the front articulated. Pistol grip stock in very well figured European Walnut. A single beavertail forend with push button Anson release. LOP is 14 1/4" to a factory buttplate. Neutral cast. DAC - 1 1/2" DAH - 2 1/4" Weight is 6 lb 14 oz with 28" barrels and 7 lb with 30" barrels. The whole cased in a quality Italian Negrini type trunk case.
Of the handfull of Italian makers with the Bernardelli name L. Santina Bernardelli is by far the highest quality. Their guns are infrequently seen in the United States. This is a very well made quality firearm and in excellent overall condition. The stock has a very few minor dings. Blue remains at 98% The gun is tight and on face. Barrels ring true. Great eye appeal. A quality Italian sidelock for less than the cost of a Spanish double.
