Charles Ingram 12 Bore A&D Boxlock Ejector Lightweight Game Gun – Glasgow Scotland - Made Between the Wars
Description: Handsome and nice handling Anson & Deeley lightweight upland game gun made by Charles Ingram in Glasgow, Scotland with 2-3/4” chambers. Ingram AK162 was made 1925 – 35 and lightly used. Sharp engraving and lots of case coloring. Double triggers and automatic safety. Very good mechanical and cosmetic condition. Easy to carry for a day afield at 6lb 4oz. A lot of power in a lightweight game gun that often likely carried more than it is shot. The 28” nitro steel barrels are chambered and Birmingham reproofed for (70mm)2-3/4” shotshells. They are topped by a raised solid concave gamestyle rib which is inscribed “Charles Ingram. 10 Waterloo St. Glasgow”. The bores are shiny and bright and the bluing is in very good condition. The right barrel is bored 0.732 with a constriction of 0.006 for Skeet choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.025. The left barrel is bored 0.727 and has a constriction of 0.035 for Full choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.029. The straighthand stock and splinter forearm with convenient Anson pushrod opening are made of nicely figured straight grained European walnut with a checkered butt. The finish is in good condition and the checkering is crisp. Stock dimensions are 14-3/8” to a checkered butt by 1-5/8” by 2-3/16” and cast-off for the righthand shooter. It is said that the greatest value to be had is a British boxlock. They have the same great handling characteristic as their sidelock cousins at a fraction of the cost. *** Please note that the photographs are part of the description.
