*** SOLD *** Beautifully and extensively engraved John Gow 12 bore game gun made in Dundee, Scotland circa 1906 – 25. Has double triggers and automatic ejectors. Weighs in at 6lb 12oz making it easy to carry for a day afield. Nicely balanced for great handling. The photos do not do justice to the Best Quality Engraving on this double. *** The 28-1/4” nitro steel barrels are chambered for 2-1/2” shotshells. Birmingham nitro proof for 1-1/8 oz. loads. The barrels are topped by a concave game style rib. The rib is inscribed “John R. Gow & Sons Gun Makers Dundee”. The right barrel is bored 0.728 and has a constriction of 0.011 for Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.035. The left barrel is also bored 0.728 with a constriction of 0.022 for Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.036. *** Stocked in a highly figured piece of English walnut with checkered panels and drop points. Splinter forearm has nicely engraved metal and an Anson push rod latch. Stock dimensions are 15-1/8” over a 1” leather pad by 1-1/2” by 2-3/8”. Slightly cast off for the righthand shot. *** The gun is on face and in good mechanical condition. Perfect for game and clays. *** Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges.
