Fine Browning Superposed Lightning 12GA Skeet
Description:
Fine example of the venerable Browning Superposed Lightning, this Model 12 GA shotgun is Skeet/Skeet choked. In outstanding condition; has been very sparingly used. A Grade I gun, built in 1967, with short tang and round knob Wood figure in stock is especially nice for a Grade I; checkering is near perfect. Built during the saltwood period (1966-70), this stock shows no visible signs of the associated problems; however, a recent factory inspection has determined it is a saltwood stock, with very limited indications. All factory original with both metal and wood finish better than 98%; no significant scratches or marks; as new condition. Mechanics are excellent; barrels are tight on the hinge pin; locks with lever to the right of center; requires a nudge to open fully. Breech face is like new and both bores are mirror shiny. Single selective trigger is crisp; gold plating near 100%. Barrels are 26 1/2 in with 2 3/4" chambers; vent rib is tight, with twin white sight beads. Action is tight; ejectors/extractors timed and strong. Buttpad is a White Line in excellent condition; LOP is 14 1/4" (LOP to end of wood is 13"). I've owned the gun for 20 years and it was rarely out of my safe as I am mainly a rifle/pistol shooter, so decided it's time for a new home.
A prime example of a classic older Browning Superposed, it's a shame I have to offer it at such a reduced price because of the saltwood stock issue.
Buyer to pay $60 shipping and insurance in CONUS; ship to local FFL dealer only via UPS or USPS.
Please contact seller if there are any questions or concerns......thanks for considering.
