Description:
A Rare” Special Order “Winchester Model- 12 -20 Ga. with the factory installed compensator by Lyman. Pre WWII manufacture” with the serial # 8272XX” (1939). It is Chambered in 20 gauge 2-3/4-inch shells. The Takedown feature with the 26-inch barrel including the Cutts with no “CHOKE MARKINGS ON BARRELL”. This is an all-original factory gun as it left the factory with only one alteration done to the buttstock. The lop is 13-3/4 inches, the original owner had the stock professionally cut about. 1-1/2 inches for a shorter LOP. He kept the end piece of wood and had it restored to its original length. See pictures it is hard to see just a thin black line that matches up perfectly. According to the Blue Book of gun values 36th edition (2015) pages 2252 & 2253 this gun is valued at $4500.00 add 50% for Factory installed Cutts =$2250.00 add 10% for Pre- WWII-Manufacture =$450.00 For a Total of- $7200.00, you can own this one for Less. This fine old 83-year-old shotgun retains 95 to 98% of the blued finish, with minimal wear to areas where action was used. The stock and forearm are in excellent condition with only a few normal wear and scratches to high areas. Total production of 20 Ga about 71,000 made from 1925 to 1943.This fine old gun has a mint bore and appears to have been stored in a nice Winchester model 12 hard case.
