Winchester Model 21 Skeet
Description: This is a very nice gun that locks up tightly and works well. I bought the gun about 10 years ago in much the condition you see in the pictures. I’m not a collector or an expert on vintage guns and cannot guarantee originality but the wear patterns on the metal and the lack of wavy polishing lead me to believe the finish on the metal is original. The wood seems awfully shiny in places to be from the late ‘30s (estimated) – it may or may not be original. On what I can say with some confidence: The barrels are 26 inches and are choked WS1 and WS2. They pattern like improved cylinder and light mod with modern shells. All of the original barrel soldering joints are tight and the bores are nice. It has a beavertail fore-end with a crack on the right side and an English/straight stock. It has ejectors, a single selective trigger, and a manual safety – I don’t know if it was converted from an automatic safety but being a skeet gun, I wouldn’t think so. The LOP is 13 inches to the end of the wood and 13 3/4ths inches to a Winchester recoil pad – the pad is too pliable to be original but it looks the part. The DAC is approximately 1.5 inches and there is no cast. There are numerous small dings and light scratches and one chip in the wood as shown in the pictures. The bluing is in good overall condition with much wear under the action and the trigger bow from carrying and there is some slight freckling on the barrels close to the breech and on the action lever. I don’t have a take-down case for it but it will be packaged securely. The gun weighs approximately 7.7 lbs. This has been a great pheasant gun and a pleasure to have in the field. The price is $3,500 plus actual shipping, three day inspection, full refund less shipping if returned in the same condition in which it was sent. Feel free to contact me with questions, offers, or to request more detailed pictures. Thanks. SOLD |
