Browning BT-99 12 Gauge – 1968, 99%, FIRST YEAR PRODUCTION, CASED, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Browning, Year 1968, 12 Gauge, 8lbs, Chokes Full, LOP 14 5/8", DAH 1 9/16", DAC 1 7/16" Serial Number: 507D8 Here we have a beautiful Browning BT-99 built in 1968, THE FIRST YEAR THE BT-99 WAS INTRODUCED. This Browning is factory original finishes and remains in “as new” condition. The gun still is stiff to open and there are no marks or scratches in the metal and only a few light handling marks in the wood. The gun has been fired a few times, but literally is near new condition. The older BT-99’s are much more attractive than the new offerings with generous engraving and a higher polish to the blued receiver and barrel. The wood has 99% of the factory original high-gloss finish and the checkering is still sharp to the touch. You can see the stock measurements below. This gun, serial number 507D8, has the 34” barrel with a full choke and mirror shiny bore. The gun weighs 8lbs. and balances just ahead of the hinge pin. The crisp trigger breaks at a consistent 3.5lbs. pull. This is a competitive single barrel trap gun at a very affordable price. If you look at the newer BT-99’s you will see plain, unadorned receivers, a less polished blue application, and a very drab looking gun. If you want a BT-99 that has not been fired much and is tight as new, this is a great buy! The gun comes in the proper factory Browning Airways hard case, a $250 value. The fact that this is a first year production gun in 99% condition makes this quite a collectible, investment quality Browning that you can enjoy using as it gains value over time.
