Intermediate Trap Shooting

Thursday February 27th, 1pm - 5pm This class is recommended for experienced sporting clay or shotgun shooters who have shot trap and are looking to improve their accuracy and technique. Our ‘Introduction to Trap’ class is highly recommended as a prerequisite. Starting in the classroom, we will review the basics of trap shooting before delving into more advanced techniques. Our instructors will talk you through the technical details and design of trap guns, demonstrate footwork and hold points, and cover an introduction to the ‘mental game’ of competitions such as how to pace yourself, manage your resources and maintain focus for the duration of the tournament. Moving to the trap field, we’ll translate these topics into practical shooting, and work on corrections where necessary to improve aim, timing, hold points and footwork. We’ll also teach self-diagnostic skills and training exercises for you to practice at home. The session culminates with a Q&A session, where participants can share insights and enjoy refreshing drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Requirements: Shotgun (modified choke or better) – ideally a trap gun, but demo trap guns can be provided for rental if required Eye and ear protection Baseball cap $575 per person (plus applicable NJ sales tax). All cartridges, clays, drinks and appetizers are included. Dress code: no t-shirts, blue jeans or open-toed shoes please. Cancellation Policy: Must contact us to cancel 10 days prior to class to receive full refund, or 72 hours prior to class to receive a 50% refund (minus credit card processing fees and applicable NJ sales tax). Any cancellations made less than 72 hours before the class date cannot be refunded.
