Fine Ithaca SKB Model 600 Engraved 12 GA Trap Shotgun  Holiday Special
Offered here and just acquired among a very fine collection of sporting shotguns and rifles is this exquisite SKB 12 Ga O/U shotgun made by Ithaca’s overseas partner SKB of Japan. Serial number S5648382 it has 30" vent ribbed barrels. 2-3/4" chambers. Deeply engraved on receiver and trigger guard. Fine checkering on pistol grip and forearm. Gold trigger. Pistol grip cap. Blued barrels and silver or coin finish on receiver.
SKB was a Japanese shotgun maker whose factory shipped over/under and other shotguns to the U.S. under the “Ithaca” name starting in the mid-1960s. The Model 600 (12 ga among others) was part of the Ithaca-imported over/under line from roughly 1966 through 1977.
Typical 600 “Trap / Field / Sporting” configurations included 12 ga., 2 -3/4”chambers. 30” barrels. Ventilated ribs, selective ejectors; and engraved receivers with checkered walnut stocks/forearms.
This specimen has blued barrels and appears to have a silver-plated or “coin finish” receiver. Heavy scroll engraving on receiver and trigger guard. This specimen
is entirely consistent with a “full-spec” SKB Model 600 in the late 60s -early 70s. The shotgun has seen light use only with most wear on the underside of the receiver to the plating where apparently carried “in hand”. We would still rate it in 98% condition.
