Description:
The Model 1000 series were gas-operated auto-loading shotguns produced for Smith & Wesson by Howa Machinery in Japan. As marked on the barrel, they were manufactured to S&W specs. Production began in 1973 and continued until 1985 with several different models hitting the American market. Receivers wore lovely scroll engraving. Barrels were S&W proof-tested, chrome-molybdenum steel. Stocks were crafted from American walnut with cut checkering and a high-gloss finish. This example is a 1000M and could use a good cleaning as it appears to not have been used for a while. 12 Gauge
