Stevens Model 5100 12ga 2-3/4" Shell 30" Barrel SxS Shotgun US Ordnance Marked ***SOLD***
Description: ***SOLD*** Stevens Model 5100 12ga side-by-side shotgun. This shotgun features the classic workhorse Stevens side-by-side action, with a very special marking; and US ordnance "Flaming Bomb" marking on the left side of the receiver. The exact government purpose for this shotgun is somewhat unclear, however during WWII the US purchased many shotguns and rifles for government use in a variety of departments. This specific shotgun was most likely purchased for use by the Department of Agriculture, or the US Forest Service, as military or training use of a side-by-side would be very unlikely. That being said, this US marked 5100 is surely a rare shotgun, and it would make a fine addition to a US martial marked firearms collection. The shotgun is in excellent working order and great overall condition, with very few signs of use, and only a missing butt plate cap, as shown.
