This fine gun is so wonderfully interesting from so many different perspectives...First of all, it was originally made circa 1890, by renowned gunmaker W&C Scott, one of England's most prolific and versatile makers of classic sxs shotguns...Second, it is a rare early 20 gauge gun. Not many 20 gauge double guns were being made in the period, by anyone, anywhere...Third, it is a Premier Grade side lock gun, perhaps Scott's most embellished and most desired shotgun model...And, it has been completely updated and refurbished; and now includes two sets of fluid steel barrels, all housed in an authentic W&C Scott Superior leather trunk case...
The original barrels were sleeved by renowned gunmaker Ian Crudgington of Bath England. They are 28", with 2 3/4" chambers and are choked ic and mod..An additional set of Austrian made barrels were fit and finished by renowned gunmaker Paul Yaeger of Jenkins Town, Pa. They are 26", with 2 3/4" chambers and are choked skeet and ic...
The length of pull is 14 1/4", with 1 3/4 and 2 3/4 drops..,The gun weighs just 5 pounds, 10 ounces with the 28" barrels installed...This is an extractor gun, being made just before automatic ejectors became the new thing...Overall, this outstanding gun and case are in fine condition, with no issues...
