London: A Hand Detachable Ejector (Droplock) 20 Bore Completed about 1909 That Remains in Excellent Condition, 28" barrels, "C" Bolting Dolls Head Third Fastener Rib Extension, Non-Hinged cover plate, 28" Ejector Dovetail Lump barrels originally nitro proved in Birmingham at 15/16 ounce, The bores at .625 .005 & .008" (Imp.Cyl. & Skt.II), 2 3/4" chambers, Wall thickness on both the right and left barrel at .026", Original factory Single selective trigger and so marked, Splinter forend with a Deeley & Edge pull down release, Prince of Wales open pistol grip at 14 3/8 x 1 5/8 x 2 3/4" over a 7/8" leather pad with plugs for easy removal, Nice cast-off for the right hand, Very nice 28" barrel weight of 5 lbs. 14 oz., This piece comes to the hand with ease, 90% coverage of very well cut scroll engraving, Very nice wood with very nice color and contrast, Original 35% case colors remain, Original barrel black at 88-90%, The barrel striking remains perfect, The wood has been re-oiled but not sanded and remains at 95%, The original checkering remains at 93-94%, The barrels inside and out remain in excellent plus, The barrels ring with a pronounced chime, The breech face retains 80% case colors. It is cased in an oak & leather trunk with a trade label and some accessories. Here is a Droplock Westley that qualifies as an exceptional piece for its age and was well kept by proper guardians.
