Westley Richards Droplock Ejector Pigeon Gun with 30” Nitro Steel Barrels and Single Selective Trigger
Description: Rare and handsome Westley Richards Droplock Pigeon Gun proofed for 1-1/4oz loads with sharp engraving and residual case coloring. Nicely figured French walnut stock and forearm. Single selective trigger, sideclips for strength, automatic ejectors, and auto safety. Westley Richards serial number T6569 was made 1914-15 and weighs 7lbs 12oz. Great weight for flyer shooting and clays. Presented in its original oak & leather case with maker’s labels and straps. The 30” nitro steel barrels are chambered for 2-1/2” shotshells proofed for 1-1/4oz loads and the forcing cones have been professionally relieved, possibly at the time of manufacture. They are topped by a raised solid tapered striated rib. The top of the right barrel is inscribed “Westley Richards Co.” and top of the left has “London” inscribed. The right barrel is bored 0.734 with a constriction of 0.035 for Full choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.040. The left barrel is bored 0.735 and has a constriction of 0.040 for Extra Full choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.036. The swept back Prince of Wales stock and splinter forearm are made of nicely figured French walnut. The forearm has a checkered grip panel, an ebony insert, and a Deeley forearm latch. Stock dimensions are 14-1/2” including a 1-1/4” leather pad by 1-5/8” by 2-1/2”. Cast off the righthanded shooter. This Westley Richards droplock pigeon gun has 30” nitro steel barrels; most droplocks were made with 28” barrels. It is a sturdy pigeon gun with barrel top extension, 1-1/4oz proofs, and sideclips. With its overall weight of 7lb 12oz lowering felt recoil it is a pleasure to shoot in the rings or on clays. These droplocks do not become available very often.
