This is a rare consecutive matched pair of William Evans 12 Gauge sidelock side-by-sides with serial numbers 11012 and 11013. Both guns feature border-engraved sidelock actions, gold-inlaid “SAFE” on the upper tang, and gold-inlaid numbers (“1” and “2”) on the top lever, rib, and forend tip.
The 28" barrels are choked Modified & Improved Cylinder. The checkered walnut straight-grip stocks have carved teardrops and blank initial plates, with a comfortable 14 1/2" length of pull.
Condition is very good plus on both guns with strong original finishes, bright bores, and tight actions. Checkering shows slight wear consistent with use.
Housed together in the original maker’s leather travel case labeled “William Evans (late J. Purdey & Sons), 63 Pall Mall, London.”
