Offered here is a classic London-made side-by-side shotgun by William Evans, From Purdey's, built on a traditional Anson & Deeley boxlock action.
This is a well-balanced English game gun that has been professionally sleeved and properly reproofed in Birmingham, ensuring safe and reliable use while retaining its original character and handling qualities. Barrel flats are correctly marked “SLEEVED” and bear Birmingham Nitro Proof marks with 2 1/2" chambers.
The gun features 28" barrels, choked Modified (right) and Improved Cylinder (left)—an ideal and highly usable field configuration.
Stock dimensions are particularly desirable and very shooter-friendly:

• Length of Pull: 14 7/8" to front trigger, 13 3/4" to rear trigger
• Drop at Comb: 1 1/2"
• Drop at Heel: 2 3/8"

Weighing just 6 lbs 8 oz, this shotgun falls squarely into the ideal range for an English upland game gun—light enough for all-day carry while retaining excellent balance and swing.
Mechanically, the gun is excellent. Bores are bright, and the gun locks up tight on face and remains tight even with the forend removed, indicating proper mechanical integrity.
The action retains attractive scroll engraving, and the wood shows good figure with honest handling wear consistent with a well-cared-for English field gun.
This is not a “best gun,” but rather a well-made London trade gun, offering the handling and character of a classic English double at a fraction of the cost of best-quality examples.

The stock has a professional repair at the top of the butt. See photo 15.  Other then that the stock an excellent condition.  The stock as a checked butt.  I do have other photos but was limited to 15.
