Description: General Specs: Winchester, c1972, .410, 6lbs. 14oz., Chokes SK/SK, LOP 14 1/8″, DAH 2 1/2″, DAC 1 1/2″ Serial Number: K226641 The Winchesters produced by The Japanese manufacturer Kodensha have a well-earned following amongst the ‘people who know’! The Winchester Model 101 is a legend, and rightly so. manufactured in response to Browning’s Superposed line of sporting guns the Winchester started its production in Kodensha, Japan in 1963, with the .410 being introduced in 1968. Durable and handsome, the 101 points and swings gracefully and feels light and well balanced. Its slim action makes the gun easy to carry and an elegantly sculptured wrist and fore end feel ergonomically perfect. These extremely well-made guns are hand engraved, hand checked, and feature chrome plated bores, the barrel flats and breach face are beautifully jeweled. This stunning example serial number K226641was built C1972. This Model 101 has 99.5% of its original factory bluing and shows perfect screws, and engraving as crisp and sharp as the day it was chiseled. The straight grained Walnut exhibits plenty of fiddle back and superb hand cut checkering, there are a few very light handling marks in the finish surface. This 101 is choked skeet/skeet and is balanced ahead of the pin. Solidly built and very well made, these guns have always offered superb value, the Winchester catalogue still features a selection of Model 101's, although the modern guns share some features with their predecessors, they are built using different techniques and have a different feel to the originals, something only time and old world craftmanship can deliver and with a finite number made the originals are climbing in value to those 'in the know'. This superb example is priced to sell, and ready for an exacting day on the Skeet fields, hitting those targets with an vintage .410, priceless! Thanks for looking.
