Description:
This Collector’s Winchester Model 12 x 12 Gauge SN: 18685XX Dates to (approximately) 1961 according to our references. This may have been an original Model 12 Trap Gun, but we are not certain. "FULL" is stamped below the word "PROOF" on the left side of the chamber - but does not photograph well. It has desirable features that include: Takedown, Milled Vent Rib/Full Choke Barrel; Brass Center Bead & Slightly Larger White Front Bead; Pistol-Grip Monte Carlo Buttstock with Rollover Cheekpiece and Double Layer Aftermarket Recoil Pad(s). The Milled Rib Serrations appear original. The Takedown Barrel and Receiver have Matching Numbers. The Smooth, Moderately Large Diameter Fancy-Grain Forend has a Glossy-Finish that is shinier than the Target Style (Oil-Finish looking) Fancy Wood Buttstock. The Bluing is almost entirely intact with expected wear around the 6-Shot Magazine Tube; and the upper rear left corner of the forend has a crack that appears to have been repaired long ago. This shotgun is tight and fully operational with an excellent bore. It has been well cared for with mild to moderate wear for age and small, scattered blemishes here and there on the wood and metal from handling and storage.
