Winchester Model 21, 12ga, Standard Grade, Serial #2225 All Matching, 30" F/M Barrels, Absolutely Mint Condition

Description:
Offered for sale is one (1) Winchester Model 21 12ga, Standard Grade, Serial #2225, 30" F/M bbls, fitted with double triggers and extractors.  This serial number dates the frame manufacture year to 1930.  Condition is all original and absolutely mint.  The first Model 21 frames did not have any roll marks on the water table but the Winchester proof mark.  The trigger plate is perfectly fitted to the action body.  For the early years of Model 21 production, Winchester stamped its barrels with hand cut roll dies on top of both barrels.  This changed in 1933, when Winchester began stamping the barrel markings on the left side.  This example has a very early style butt stock.  The pistol grip is more open than the later versions, and blends into the baseline of the stock.  This style of butt stock was used only in the first two or three years of production.  This early production gun was fitted with a splinter forearm.  Pre-war splinter forearms were approximately 7.90" long and 1.32" wide across the bottom.  Under side of barrels marked Full (left bbl) and Mod (right bbl).  At the muzzle, the right barrel measures .718" and the left barrel measures .693".  Stock dimensions are LOP 14" to original Winchester butt plate, Drop at Comb 1 9/16", and Drop at Heel 2 3/8".  Has been in my collection since February 1994.
