The Model 21 is an American icon with a well-deserved reputation.  A handsome gun built with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure.  IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, SHOOT HIGH VOLUME BIRDS OR CLAYS, THIS IS YOUR GUN.  Sixteen-gauge M21 guns were made in fewer numbers than the 20ga. and 12ga. guns, so finding HIGH CONDITION, FACTORY ORIGINAL Model 21 guns in 16ga. is not an easy task.  Most that you find have been poorly restored outside the factory with modern finishes that look like the receiver has been painted black, or worse yet, have aftermarket wood, altered chokes, short stocks, abused finishes, etc.  THE M21 SKEET GRADE WE HAVE HERE, SN15397 BUILT IN 1947, IS A RARE FIND INDEED, WITH TWO SETS OF 26” BARRELS (WS1/WS2 AND M/F) RETAINING 99% FACTORY BLUE;  ACTION MARKED “SKEET” RETAINING 97% FACTORY BLUE; TRIGGER GUARD RETAINING 96% FACTORY BLUE; MECHANICS, SCREWS, WOOD-TO-METAL FIT ALL SUPERB; AND FACTORY STOCKS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH GORGEOUS HIGHLY FIGURED WOOD THAT IS THE BEST YOU ARE LIKELY TO SEE ON A MODEL 21 SKEET GRADE.  THE SET IS HOUSED IN A VFI CUSTOM LEATHER CASE, FIT SPECIFICALLY TO THIS M21 TWO-BARREL SET, WITH WINCHESTER TRADE LABEL, FULL RANGE OF ACCESSORIES, AND LEATHER REINFORCING AT ALL INTERIOR WEAR POINTS.  THE CUSTOM CASE IS VALUED AT $1800 AS SHOWN AND ALL PARTS OF THE GUN ARE TIGHTLY FIT IN THE CASE SO THERE IS NO MOVEMENT OR WEAR WHILE TRAVELING OR ON DISPLAY.  This is not just a thrown together set.  Whoever ordered this gun had versatility in mind, as the choke choices on the different barrels will allow you to pursue any and all upland game and be your go-to shotgun for skeet, 5-stand, sporting clays, and an occasional go at the trap field.  The gun weighs less than one ounce different with either set of barrels, and balances precisely the same with either set.  PERFECTION!  You can safely shoot any 2 ¾” 16ga. shell in the #1 set of barrels, even MAGNUM STEEL SHOT OR OTHER HARD NON-TOXIC.  You can shoot magnum loads out of set #2 but if non-toxic is required, it must be soft non-toxic like Bismuth through the M/F chokes.  One gun that fits you, set up for all your needs, is a very affordable way for you to cover everything from early season ruffed grouse to wild pheasants on the plains of South Dakota.  We have the Cody Firearms Museum info sheet that defines the gun on the original order.  The only change in the gun since shipped is the pad, which is an original Winchester pad.  There is no mention of a second set of barrels and no “order sheet” available, but the barrels are marked properly, and from the same era as the WS1/WS2 set, with the same Winchester markings on the side of the left barrel.  Second sets of barrels were often added at a later date, or even added to the order before the gun was completed.  The only thing we know for certain is the M/F barrels are a perfect match to the WS1/WS2 barrels, serial numbered properly to the gun, and fit the gun to perfection.  They appear to be factory in every way.  For logical price comparisons in the marketplace, the second set of barrels add at least $2500 to the value of the set, the case $1800, leaving a reasonable $7650 we are asking for this high-condtion Model 21 Skeet Grade with KILLER wood if it were just the gun alone with no case or second set of barrels.  The price is a bargain, all ready to go with no additional needs or costs.  Really a special find and complete package.  See specifications below.  Thanks for looking!
