Winchester Model 21 20 Gauge – FACTORY ORIGINAL LOTS OF CONDITION, CODY LETTER
Description: Winchester Model 21 20 Gauge Side-by-Side FACTORY ORIGINAL, LOTS OF CONDITION, CODY LETTER General Specs: Winchester, Year 1941, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 6oz, SxS Serial Number: 15831 Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of far superior strength and mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself. With only 32,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm sure to appreciate as you enjoy its use. From 1930 to 1980, they only made about 2900 twenty gauge guns in all grades. Model 21's are fully capable of shooting the most powerful loads available, SO IF YOU LIKE MAGNUM LOADS FOR PHEASANTS, DUCKS, OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS YOUR GUN. Most all the guns you see on the internet today have been restored or reworked in some way. Most are nicely done. But finding an all original, untouched, factory original, pre-WWII Model 21 twenty gauge is becoming very difficult indeed. That is what we have here in serial number 15831, a Winchester built Standard Skeet Grade built in 1941 and shipped to Griffin & Howe. We have documentation from Griffin & Howe and the Cody Firearms Museum and the gun is in the exact configuration as when it left the factory, including chokes, stock dimensions, and checkered butt. This is a relative lightweight amongst Model 21 guns, weighing just 6lbs. 5oz. compared to the usual 6 ¾ to 7lb. you normally see. If you are an upland hunter and want a nice light gun to carry over hill and dale, this is a standard M21 with beavertail forend, sst, 26” WS1/WS2 chokes, all mechanics excellent and bores mirror shiny, and ready to go…a rare find. The stock dimensions are awesome, and there are just a few handling marks on the wood, not cracks or repairs, excellent checkering. The barrels retain 99% factory blue and the receiver has only minor wear in the carry area on the bottom of the frame, about 93% factory blue remaining. These lightweight Model 21 20ga. guns will start to sell quickly in the next few weeks, as the upland bird season looms close. Don’t let this one slip through your hands. Buy it now and practice before the season! Thanks for looking!
