RARE SIMMONS CONVERTED WINCHESTER DELUXE MODEL 50 SEMI-AUTOMATIC 28 GAUGE SKEET GUN

This is a rare example of a Winchester shotgun marketed directly by Simmons Gun Specialties. Simmons would take new Winchester factory standard shotguns, apply the upgrades they offered and market them as Winchester shotguns with Simmons custom upgrades. As it was, Winchester only offered the model 50 in 12 & 20 gauges. Simmons Gun Specialties offered these as 28 gauge conversions along with other barrel upgrades such as ventilated ribs and Cutts compensators. This Skeet gun has a 26 inch barrel upgraded with a Simmons ventilated rib with Glow Worm sight, It is marked —MODEL 50 - 28 GA. - 2 3/4 CHAM.—  /  —WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL—  /  WS-1. Special features include a Jeweled bolt and loading gate. Deluxe highly figured Skeet triple diamond checkered walnut forearm with matching pistol grip buttstock fit with a  black Winchester marked grip cap and a Winchester marked red rubber butt pad. This gun is excellent overall remaining in near as new condition showing no noticeable wear and only a couple very light handling marks on the wood. Comes with copy of Simmons print ads from August, 1964 Skeet Shooting Review. Manufactured in 1957. Hard to find one better!
