Erie Rairoad Marked 1897 Winchester 20" Riot Shotgun. Serial number 540486 Manufactured in 1914. Single bead sight, standard barrel markings and Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech, 2 3/4 inch chamber, and cylinder choke. Grooved slide handle and smooth pistol grip stock with "ERIERR" stamped on the left side and checkered Winchester buttplate. The end of the buttstock is also stamped "ERIERR" under the buttplate. Barrel and magazine tube retain 85 to 90% original blue with scattered handling marks. All markings are crisp. Receiver retains 80 to 85% of its original blue. Nice bore and action functions nicely. Both forend and buttstock are in good condition. Buttstock has a small repair just behind hammer (see pic). All in all a very nice hard to obtain pre war Riot gun that has American Railroad history. Must ship to a FFL or Curio and Relics license holder. This firearm as with any other should be checked first by a gunsmith before any attempt is made to fire / operate it.
