Winchester Model 12 20 Gauge – PIGEON 2 BARREL SET, vintage firearms inc for sale
Description:
General Specs: Winchester, Year 1954, 20 Gauge, 30" 7lbs 11oz; 26" 10lbs 9oz
Serial Number: 1586807
We have acquired a nice factory original Pigeon Grade 20ga. two-barrel set that is the real deal and in minty original condition. What a stellar find, sn1586807 built around 1954, that comes with a 30” Full choke barrel with the round post donut-base vent rib, and a 26” WS1 choked barrel with the same rib. This “New Winchester Special Ventilated Rib” came into use in 1954. The gun is near mint, retaining 99% factory blue on all parts, near perfect 3X Pigeon Grade wood with perfect checkering, most of the jeweling remaining on the bolt and carrier, perfect bore and mechanics, perfect screws, and a Winchester factory pad. The Winchester Model 12 Pigeon Grade is a very high-grade collectible Winchester that continues to be a solid investment grade firearm. The Pigeon Grade came standard with highly figured wood with fancy, perfectly executed checkering, extra time and effort spent making sure that the metal was polished out “just so” and honing the action so it was smooth as silk, and a jeweled bolt and carrier. Most had a pigeon engraved on the magazine tube, but this one does not. I have examined the gun personally and it is all factory correct Pigeon Grade and must have been ordered without the pigeon. There will be very few chances in one's lifetime to acquire a factory correct Pigeon Grade 20ga. with 2 barrels sets and in mint condition. The set is very versatile for either upland pursuits or the clay busting sports, or both. We have custom fit a canvas and leather case (complete with Winchester trade label) to house the set and prevent any movement of the barrel or receiver assemblies within the case during travel. The wear points are treated with heavy leather so as not to wear the fine felt. The custom fit case is a $750 value and really shows the set off and protects it as well. This is a rare find and this gun will not last long, so don't hesitate on this treasure. Thanks for looking!
