Winchester Model 12 28 gauge SKEET, mfg. 1940 original and high condition

Winchester Model 12, 28 gauge factory SKEET.  Made in 1940.

26" solid rib barrel, choked SKEET with 2 7/8" chamber.

Handsomely figured American Walnut SKEET grade pistol grip buttstock with correct checkering and matching extension forearm.  There is a factory solid red recoil pad making the length of pull, 14".

The receiver is correct stamped "28" on the rear extension, see photo.  

All finishes are original, retaining 98% bluing and 98% on the wood.  Note the receiver bluing is polished vertically, not horizontally as most reblued guns are and all edges and markings, except for the lightly stamped proof mark, are sharp.  Also note the photo of the "ring" inside of the receiver..original bright finish not blued or polished!

This is an extremely fine example of a very desirable and collectable Model 12, 28 gauge.
