Introduced in 1912, the Winchester Model 12 quickly earned a reputation as one of the finest pump-action shotguns ever produced. Designed by the legendary firearms engineer Thomas Crossley Johnson, the Model 12 became known for its exceptionally smooth action, robust construction, and outstanding reliability. Often referred to as the "Perfect Repeater," it was widely used by hunters, competitive shooters, law enforcement personnel, and military forces throughout much of the 20th century. By the late 1940s, Winchester was producing some of the finest examples of the Model 12, and these post-war guns remain highly sought after by collectors and shooters alike. This 1949-manufactured example exhibits many desirable features associated with high-grade target and trap shotguns, including a vent rib barrel, jeweled components, and beautifully figured walnut furniture.

Offered for sale is an exceptional Winchester Model 12 12-gauge shotgun manufactured in 1949. Featuring a 30-inch ported blued barrel with factory vent rib, this shotgun is configured for excellent target acquisition and long-range pattern performance. The barrel is fitted with a green fiber-optic front sight and white mid-bead, while the fixed Full choke makes it particularly well suited for trap shooting, handicap events, waterfowl hunting, or other applications where dense patterns are desired.
Mechanically, the action is exactly what Model 12 enthusiasts hope to find—smooth, solid, and exhibiting the tight lock-up that made these shotguns famous. The bright, shiny bore remains in excellent condition, and the jeweled bolt and jeweled loading gate add a touch of elegance rarely found on standard field guns.
The true highlight of this shotgun is its stunning wood. The finely figured walnut buttstock and matching checkered forearm display exceptional grain and craftsmanship, complemented by a 14?-inch length of pull, Decelerator recoil pad, and black oval Winchester Arms grip cap. The blued metal surfaces remain highly attractive, and the shotgun shows only very light handling marks and minor wear consistent with careful ownership.
