One of the nicest M12 Heavy Duck styles that you will see offered, both in terms of its extra clean appearance and the highly desirable and seldom seen factory SOLID MATTED RIB barrel.
S/N 1327021 made in 1951.
Strong finishes showing 97% Blue and 98% Varnish with some overall light wear from careful use. The original issue buttstock and sides of the original issue pad appear practically new, suggesting a probable light clean up and coat of oil at some time over the past 74 years, although there is no evidence of any significant sanding whatsoever, with the wood remaining well proud at both receiver and pad transitions.
Flawless, mirror bore along with crisp and proper mechanical functions throughout.
Scarce 30" solid rib barrel with full choke and 3" chamber.
These Model 12 Duck styles had unique buttstocks with a slightly shorter 13 3/4" LOP to accommodate a heavier coat, and were weighted internally for recoil reduction. This one also wears the correct and still soft factory issued solid red recoil pad.
This is a very sharp, scarcely configured, and often quite difficult to find shotgun!
