A pristine and lightly used Model 12 Heavy Duck (1954). The 30" barrel has a Simmons vent rib. By1954 the Winchester vent ribs had been discontinued and they were sending barrels to Simmons for vent ribs, Those ribs usually (but not always) were not stamped with Simmons name. Also, Simmons was buying Model 12's at a deep discount for resale, not blued, and adding their rib to the barrel. In other words, you could buy a new Model 12 from either Winchester or Simmons. Who knows which this gun is and what does it matter? It's still a rare Model 12, 3" Super Speed, Heavy Duck in great overall condition. It weighs a hefty 9# which is the correct weight for these guns. It has the correct 13 5/8 LOP over the original pad. There are a few light nicks in the stock, which I've tried to show in the pictures.
I'm selling this for a non-shooting friend who inherited it from his father who had collected some nice guns.
