CSMC Winchester Model 21 “Grand American” Style Small Gauge Three Barrel Set 20, 28 and .410 Semi-Relief Gold Inlaid with Case
Description: 20 gauge and 28 gauge have 2-3/4″ Chambers, and .410 bore has 3″ chambers. All barrel sets are 26″ and fitted with raised, matted, ventilated ribs. All are marked for skeet and skeet. There are 3″ triangles of varying sized scroll at breech ends. Engine turned barrel flats are stamped with matching numbers and Winchester proofs. Each set has its own forend. Barrels are stamped “1″, “2″, and “3″ on loops and front portions of forend irons, and gold inlaid on bottoms of forend irons. .410 barrels have milled out lightening cuts on flats. Blued flat side action with lightened water table features automatic safety and gold-plated single selective trigger. Action is engraved in typical “21-6″ style with semi-relief gold inlays, typical of “Grand American” guns. Fences are carved with oak leaves and acorns. Remainder of action has 80% coverage of scroll within geometric borders, surrounding vignettes of gold inlaid dogs and birds; a setter on left side, and a pointing pointer on right. Bottom of action depicts a pair of gold inlaid pheasants. Trigger guard bow has a gold portrait of a dog. Exceptional feather crotch figured American walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ length of pull over checkered wood butt. Stock and all matching beavertail forends are carved in “21-B” style. Barrel set “1″ 20 gauge: Bore diameter: left -.612, right -.613. Bore restrictions: left -.009 (skeet), right -.004 (skeet). Barrel set “2″ 28 gauge: Bore diameter: left -.550, right -.550. Bore restrictions: left -.009 (skeet), right -.006 (skeet). Barrel set “3″ .410 Bore: Bore diameter at muzzles: left -.406, right -.415. Bore restrictions: left -(skeet), right -(skeet). Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 6 lbs 11 oz. LOP: 14-1/4″. Brown leather VC case with stitched leather corners by Nizzoli is lined in burgundy cloth, with Winchester gold embossed label in lid, and has space for gun and all sets of barrels. Case contains 2 piece rosewood and brass cleaning rod with mops, jags, and brushes in two black leather cases, pair of snap caps for each gauge, and a square oil bottle. Condition: Excellent, showing evidence of light use, with high points of carving on fences silvered, otherwise metal is excellent. Buttstock has numerous marks and light scratches, mostly on left side. All bores are excellent. Mechanically crisp. Case leather has numerous scratches and light rubs, a water stain, and a few dents. Straps and handle are fine. Interior cloth is very fine with some compressions and soiling. Accessories are excellent, near new.
