Winchester Model 21 12 Gauge – 2 BARREL SET, CASED, EJECTORS, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Winchester, Year 1934, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 5oz; 7lbs 12oz Serial Number: 4903 When John Olin wanted to have title to the strongest side by side shotgun in the world, he went to work and got it done. The Model 21 is an American icon with a well-deserved reputation. A strikingly handsome gun made with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure. IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS, DUCKS, OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS THE GUN. Most double gun enthusiasts are keenly aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of mechanical genius that was under the micro-management of John Olin himself. With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm. This fine M21 Standard Grade, sn4903, is a great example of a CLASSIC UPLAND DOUBLEGUN; ENGLISH STOCK, SPLINTER FOREND, DOUBLE TRIGGERS, AND EJECTORS. These features are near impossible to find on a Model 21, as most M21’s with two triggers and a splinter forend have extractors only and most Model 21’s have beavertail forends, single triggers and pistol grip stocks. Additionally, there is a second set of barrels fitted to the gun (not factory original and serial numbers 8197) that are jugged choked IC/M and are 27” long to give you great versatility for waterfowl, upland, and sporting clays. Both sets of barrels are tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face with the top lever centered, crisp mechanics, strong well-timed ejectors, and she is mechanically sound and pretty to look as well. The 30” M/F barrels retain 99% blue, the receiver retains 99% blue, the trigger guard 99% blue, and the highly figured walnut stocks have perfect checkering with no cracks and superb wood-to-metal fit. If you enjoy chasing tough upland birds, waterfowl, turkey, or just shooting a round of sporting clays, this is a great vintage Winchester for your pursuits. With RST spreader loads the 27” barrels will pattern as if she were choked WS1/WS2 thus increasing the usefulness on the clays course or upland prairies. The mechanics and screws are perfect, all ready for the highest volume, heaviest loads you would ever want to feed into a shotgun. This Model 21 two-barrel set is housed in a CUSTOM FIT CANVAS AND LEATHER CASE INCLUDING THE MAKER’S TRADE LABEL, FULL ACCESSORIES, AND A PROTECTIVE SLIP COVER, VALUED AT $1150.
