When John Olin wanted to have title to the strongest side by side shotgun in the world, he went to work and got it done.  The Model 21 is an American icon and its reputation is well deserved.  A strikingly handsome gun with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure.  IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS THE GUN.  Most double gun enthusiasts are well aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself.  With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm.  This Model 21, sn19744 made in 1947.  is a Deluxe Grade Field gun.  Winchester made its Deluxe Grade one with special attention to metal polishing, fit and finish, special attention to choke and chambers, nicer figure in the wood, a Deluxe checkering pattern, some had jeweled surfaces on the water table, forend iron, and barrel flats, all together the best that Winchester could make.  The Deluxe Grade was a small portion of the overall production and a special gun to own and use.  Most 12ga. M21’s are heavy, almost clunky guns.  Not this one.  At 7lbs. it is actually a light 12ga. as American doubles go.  Stocked with exhibition grade walnut with a long 14 ½” LOP to a checkered butt and great shooting dimensions, it is not your ordinary Model 21.  Factory choked IC/IM it is the ultimate upland gun that will fill in fine on the sporting clays course.  Metal and wood are all in mint, restored condition.  Also unusual and indicative of its “Field” Grade designation, it has a traditional splinter forend.  I love that on a gun intended to shoot roosters, grouse, and other upland birds.  This is an unusual, useful, investment quality American icon in the double gun world.  Don’t miss out in owning one of the finest bird guns available.  Thanks for looking!
