Description:
The Winchester Model 21 is a high-grade, side-by-side double-barreled shotgun widely considered one of the strongest and most durable American "doubles" ever produced. Developed in the 1920s and officially launched in 1931, it was the personal favorite of John M. Olin, whose leadership saved Winchester from bankruptcy and kept the expensive-to-build Model 21 in production as a symbol of quality. This one has high grade wood with very nice figure and grain. The metal has a few spots of rust, but is excellent in between them. The metal is heavily engraved with Acanthus scrollwork, surrounding gold-filled pheasants and dogs. It has an assisted open action, the top lever is near center, and it appears to lock up tight to the face. The bottom of the receiver is engraved with the terms "TRAP" and "SKEET" The date of manufacture traces to 1936. 16 Gauge
