When John Olin wanted to have title to the strongest side by side shotgun in the world, he got it done.  The Model 21 is an American icon with a well-deserved reputation.  A handsome gun built with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure.  IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, SHOOT HIGH VOLUME BIRDS OR CLAYS, THIS IS YOUR GUN!  With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm.   Sixteen-gauge M21 guns were made in fewer numbers than the 20ga. guns, so finding Model 21 guns in 16ga. is not an easy task.  Most that you see have been restored with modern finishes that look like the receiver has been painted black and not done to factory specifications, stocks are altered or replaced, chokes are changed, pads are added, and a variety of other maladies come with the gun.  Often times the price reflects these maladies and if you don’t mind the “shortcomings” you can get a good buy on an “altered” Model 21.  THE PREMIUM GUNS, GUNS THAT STILL RETAIN MOST ALL THEIR FACTORY ORIGINAL FINISHES, GUNS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN ALTERED SINCE LEAVING THE FACTORY, GUNS THAT HAVE DESIRABLE FEATURES, ARE THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER AND VALUABLE GUNS TO BUY.  Think about it…of all the Winchester M21 guns made in 16ga., how many remain on the planet that have not been restored or altered in any way since leaving the factory AND still look near new?  Very, very few is the answer.  That is exactly what we have here-A FACTORY ORIGINAL, HIGH CONDTION, UNALTERED MODEL 21 SIXTEEN GAUGE WITH STUNNING FACTORY WOOD, OVER 98% OF FACTORY FINISHES ON BARRELS, ACTION, AND WOOD, WITH THE TRIGGER GUARD SHOWING SOME FLAKING AND PATINA.  And it gets better…this is a pre-war Model 21 Skeet Grade, built in 1940, sn15533, documented by the included Cody Firearms Museum info sheet, with 26” barrels choked WS1/WS2, superb mechanics, perfect screws, flawless wood-to-metal fit, great stock dimensions to the original factory checkered butt, sharp and crisp checkering, the gun showing little use or wear for its 81 years of age.  See the specifications below this paragraph for detailed measurements.  The M21 Skeet is equally at home in the field chasing upland game as it is on the skeet fields or sporting clays course.  You will see few Skeet Grade M21 guns with factory wood as fully figured as this gun is wearing.  And of course, I don’t know a gun person that would not pay an extra $1000 for killer wood on a gun compared to one with plain-jane wood.  Model 21 guns in the smaller gauges are a true investment quality gun and a tangible asset that will continue to grow in value as you enjoy their use.  A M21 in this condition is a rare find, so don’t hesitate or it will be in somebody else’s gun cabinet instead of yours!  Thanks for looking.
