Winchester Model 21 20 Gauge – 6lbs. 6oz., 28” M/F FACTORY ORIGINAL, VINTAGE FIREARMS, INC.
Description: Winchester Model 21 20 Gauge SxS 6lbs. 6oz, 28" M/F, FACTORY ORIGINAL General Specs: Winchester, Year 1948, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 6oz, SxS Serial Number: 20045 Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of far superior strength and mechanical genius that was under the micro management of John Olin himself. With only 32,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm sure to appreciate as you enjoy its use. From 1930 to 1980, they only made about 2900 twenty-gauge guns in all grades. Model 21's are fully capable of shooting the most powerful loads available, SO IF YOU LIKE MAGNUM LOADS FOR PHEASANTS, DUCKS, OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS YOUR GUN. Most every M21 20ga. you find will weigh between 6 ¾ to 7 1/4lbs. and feel like a heavy target gun, and they do well in that role. I purposely search out the rare lightweight guns that feel lively in hand and will not drag you down as you traverse hill and dale all day long after upland game with fine dogs and friends. This original, untouched factory gun, sn20045 made in 1948, is a nice, light 6lbs. 6oz., shipped as a Standard Grade gun with 28” barrels and M/F chokes. The gun has been well maintained and retains 98% factory barrel blue and 97% factory receiver blue, barrels tight on hinge and breech face like a new gun, perfect screws, strong well-timed ejectors, crisp and proper functioning single selective trigger, no cracks or repairs, and just some handling marks on buttstock. It is a nice find to have a M21 with all original finishes, long barrels choked for upland hunting, unaltered since it left the factory, and nice shooting dimensions. And best of all, nobody has added a pad! Examine the factory letter shown with the photos and you will note the gun matches the letter to perfection! This fine Winchester is in a very rare and hard to find combination of lightweight, splinter forend, SST, ejectors, long 28” barrels, and unaltered M/F chokes. What a great pheasant and western upland game gun! Use RST spreader loads and shoot IC/M patterns for your sporting clays or closer upland game. Search the internet and you will see quite a few Model 21 twenty-gauge guns for sale, but very few that have this combination of very desirable features. Most have pads, beavertails, are choked WS1/WS2 with 26” barrels, and weigh closer to 7lbs. or more compared to this 6 1/4lb. gun. Priced to sell and in great factory original condition.
