Description:
Here is a near mint classic Winchester model 37 single shot shotgun chambered in 16 GA for use with 2-3/4" shells. This firearm works great all around and has tight fitment of the wood and receiver. This is a "Red Letter" model which means that it has the red Winchester letters under the receiver and it was built in 1948 or earlier. Unfortunately these were never serialized so there is no way to know the exact year that this was made. This shotgun has a 30 inch barrel with a very nice looking bore that is very shiny and shows little use. The finish is in excellent shape and the Winchester logo still shows distinct red letters. I would say that the finish is 90-95% with very minimal handling marks. The wood is in good shape besides some minor handling marks near the butt and two small chips out of the fore end on each side which I have shown in the pictures. The length of pull is about 14.25 inches to the factory Winchester plastic butt plate. This is an extractor model which pops the shells out when you break it open.
