Description:
We have a pretty nice old 1897 Winchester pump shotgun about 127 years old as the last pat date on the barrel is june 16,98 and the barrel and receiver numbers match. This gun has not been refinished or altered except the crack in the forearm has been repaired with accra glas as has the minor crack in the wrist, both are shown in the pictures. The takedown pin/retainer was missing and has been replaced, works fine. The barrel looks pretty nice- no dents or other visable damage and the front bead is likely original, bore is good, shows some roughness from black powder ammunition, but functioned fine, fired modern ammunition without any issues. This gun will rapid fire by holding back the trigger and pumping the action, this is by design, and not by accident. This is a 12ga with 2 3/4" chamber. The action is nice and tight, not sloppy, and gun does not show signs of hard usage. Serial number is 64,8xx and most references show about 1899 manufacture. Need FFL or C&R and certified funds for immediate shipment, business and personal checks wait a week to clear before shipping- sorry no credit cards anymore.
