Winchester Model 1897 - Slide Action Takedown - 12 Ga. Shotgun - Smooth walnut pistol grip stock , grooved slide handle and butt plate. 5 round tubular magazine ( includes the original 2 shot wooden plug ) . 30 In. plain barrel, full choke with front sight bead. Bore is clean and bright. Barrel and receiver are retaining 100% bluing. Stock and slide handle are in excellent condition with minimal handling marks. Previous owner had shotgun professionally restored. Overall condition is excellent. Includes a new soft sleeve. This is a John Browning design that became famous in WWI with it's external hammer slam fire design. It was offered in a number of variations from the standard Field design to the Trench shotgun with bayonet. This one was manufactured in 1924. Approx. one million units were sold from 1897 to 1957. A great addition to any shotgun collection.
