NEW PRICE 11/20/23 $1575
Winchester Model 97 12 ga in rare fine condition. The 1897 invented by John Browning was inrtroduced in that year as an improvement over the Model 1893 and was the first Winchester shotgun chambered for 2 3/4 inch smokeless ammunition. The 97 was manufactured for 60 years from 1897 to 1957.
This 97, serial number 1018519, was made in 1957, the last year of production. It is in rare fine condition with a bright blue full choke 30 inch barrel, rubbed oil finished stocks, a Redhead period recoil pad, and weighs in at 8.0 lbs. It is very shootable on the trap range or in the field with a 14 inch LOP. A great addition to a Browning /Winchester collection as well!
I have shot it once and put 4 boxes of shells through it, maybe the first ever, in 2017. Once again it appears to be all original except for the recoil pad and the orange front sight. The action is very clean, the barrel markings are crisp, the breech face is mostly unmarked, the proof marks have an edge, and the wood is proud to the stock. The pictures tell the story.
