Manufactured 1954
“E" model which is a newer production, has slightly deeper 5/16 wide grooves on the receiver ring, the cartridge stops fastened through the bottom of the action, and provides buttons which could be pushed to retract the cartridge stops.
This M97 is all original and in incredible condition. As shown in the photographs, there are only a few marks (dings, scratches, and impressions) on the two-piece walnut wood groove slide-handle (forehand pump), semi-pistol grip, and straight comb stock. The should plate is all original, marked Winchester, and checkered black hard rubber buttplate.
This Model 97 is a later production in excellent condition. Known for fast action, slam-fire, hammer slide action, the best of both worlds that has served through multiple wars, modern law enforcement, and civilian world applications.
