Winchester Model 1300 Defender 12 Ga. Tactical Shotgun

Winchester built the Model 1300 Defender for tactical use, mainly aimed at police, military, and home defense markets.  The Defender sports a standard 18.5-inch barrel chambered for 2 3/4" and 3" shells. The magazine tube holds seven rounds.  For tactical use, shorter is better, and so is more ammunition. An aftermarket green fiber optic sight tops the barrel, and allows faster target acquisition
 The Defender seems pretty standard compared to most other pump-action shotguns. Where it does stand out is the use of a rotating bolt. The rotating bolt does two things. First, it exerts rotation force on the shell along with rearward force, which could help with a hull that might otherwise get stuck. The second benefit is the speed pump design. After you fire the gun, the pump wants to automatically unlock and even slightly pushes the pump and action rearward slightly. This, combined with the slick pump action, makes this a blazingly fast pump action gun. You can rock and roll with this gun a good bit faster than others. Against the clock, it might only be fractions of the second, but those fractions can matter. It’s fun to see just how fast you can run the gun’s seven rounds. The Winchester Defender series is long gone these days, but not forgotten.
This gun has many upgraded add-ons.  This shotgun has an aftermarket Phoenix Tech KickLite butt stock which has a recoil reducer built into the stock and is advertised to reduce felt-recoil by as much as 50%.  The buttstock also has a cheek riser cheek riser and an effective recoil pad.  The heat shield protects your support hand from a heated barrel and there is a 5 round ammo holder for faster reloads. There is a few light scratches on the left side of the receiver. This gun has not had more than 100 rounds fired through it. (See the photos.)
