Winchester 21 20 Ga - 30” F/F 3” MAGNUM, FACTORY FINISHES, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Winchester, Year 1933, 20 Gauge, 6lbs. 11oz., Chokes F/F, LOP 13 1/2", DAH 1 15/16", DAC 1 1/2" Serial Number: 5292 Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of superior strength and mechanical genius created under the micro management of John Olin himself. From 1930 to 1980 they only made about 2900 twenty-gauge guns in all grades, most of them weighing well over 6 3/4lbs., many over 7lbs. LESS THAN 200 WERE MADE AS 30” FULL CHOKE WITH 3” CHAMBERS, AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM. Most Model 21 20ga. Magnum guns weigh well over 7lbs. There are a scant few that weigh just 6lbs. 11oz. and to find one is an event. Anybody who walks long distances in the field appreciates a lighter gun by the end of the day. Model 21's are fully capable of shooting the most powerful loads available, SO IF YOU LIKE MAGNUM LOADS FOR PHEASANTS, DUCKS, TURKEY, OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS YOUR GUN. This M21, sn5292 built in 1933, is a PRE-WAR Model 21 20ga. that was ordered with Trap finish and wood, as is evident by the well-figured stock with checkered side panels. It was returned to the factory for work, and it was then that the 30” Magnum barrels were fitted to the gun. The Winchester pad is vintage, original Winchester, so likely added when they turned the gun into a Magnum 20 gauge. The gun is all factory finishes, with expected and normal wear to the carry point on the bottom of the receiver, leaving 70% factory charcoal blue finish on the action. The 30” Full choked barrels are factory marked with 3” chambers, have mirror shiny bores, no dents, tight ribs, and 98% factory blue. The barrels are still tight on the hinge pin and breech face like a new gun with the top lever just right of center. The mechanics are excellent throughout, and the gun is ready for another 100 years of service. The specifications are listed below. Weighing just 6lbs. 11oz. and balanced right on the hinge pin, this gun feels lighter in hand than the scales admit. Just in time for the western uplands and late season pheasant, this gun will reach out and touch game at a long distance with the 3” Magnum ammunition. Priced to sell, so please call and secure this one for yourself. Thanks for looking!
