Winchester was late to the side by side party, but sure made an impact when the model 21 was finally released. It is one of the most sought after and durable of the American doubles, regardless of grade. Made in the year of our Lord 1956, she is in wonderful condition for being 69 years old. The blue is rich and deep, the highly figured and checkered walnut is gorgeous, the stampings and engraving are sharp and clear, the bores gleaming, and all original specs are intact. The top lever resides to the right of center. The fleur de lis checkering actually is done in two pitches, the water table, barrel flats, and ejector rods are engine turned, the forend has an ebony insert, both barrels are vent rib with ivory mid beads, and the number 2 engraving is the icing on the cake. We have observed so many model 21 multi barrel sets, and the vast majority were comprised of barrels added after manufacture. It is so good to find an original 2 barrel set. The included Cody Museum letter and build sheet confirms all these features and dimensions, along with the gold monogram, as ordered. This is a marvelous set, in top condition, with barrels and chokes that will cover all the bases.
