Description: General Specs: Winchester, Year 1936 , 12 Gauge, 7lbs. 7oz., Chokes WS1 WS2, LOP 14", DAH 2 1/2", DAC 1 5/8" Serial Number: 8448 When John Olin wanted to have the title to the strongest side by side shotgun in the world, he went to work and got it done. The Model 21 is an American icon, and its reputation is well deserved. A strikingly handsome gun with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure. IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS THE GUN. Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of mechanical genius that was under the micromanagement of John Olin himself. With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm. This Model 21, SN8448 built in 1936, is a fine example of a factory original Model 21 that is fully documented by the Cody Firearms Museum info that comes with this gun. The gun matches the letter to the “T”. THE GUN IS AS SHIPPED, WITH ALL FACTORY FINISHES ON THE BARRELS, ACTION, AND TRIGGER GUARD, EACH RETAINING OVER 98% FACTORY BLUE….. A RARE FIND. Nicely figured factory original wood with an excellent finish, superb factory checkering. The gun has a tiny bit of natural wear on the receiver, mirror bores, perfect screws, make this a Model 21 that will sell quickly as most M21 guns you see advertised have been restored, whether the seller says so or not. The 26” barrels are factory choked WS1/WS2. The WS2 choke measures .012, a bit tighter than IC…about perfect for clays or upland game over dogs. Because of the less than Modified choke, you can shoot any 2 ¾” ammunition you choose, even steel, as long as it is quality factory ammo with a fully protective shot cup. The best duck gun for a duck blind has 26” barrels shooting high density tungsten shot…just do the research and you will agree! If you want to hunt upland game, doves, waterfowl, any other game, or shoot clay targets with the most potent ammunition or with the most recognized of the iconic American double guns, this gun is priced right and ready for another 100 years of service.
