Winchester Model 37A 12 ga. 36" Barrel RARE “Goose Gun"
Known as “The Goose Gun" for the rare 36-inch barrel, it is a single-shot 12 ga. Used for long-range bird / waterfowl hunting.
Both sides of the receiver have beautiful scrolling, checkered walnut, semi-;istol grip, checkered walnut forehand, Monte Carlo styled white ring buttstock, and deluxe Winchester pads. This 37A Goose Gun is all original and like new. We have bantered back and forth if it has been shot other than test firing.
The left side barrel markings read “WINCHESTER MODEL 37A 12 GA. 2 ¾ & 3" CHAM."; continued on the line below “FULL CHOKE – WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL"; bottom line reads “MADE IN CANADA".
The right side of the barrel markings “WINCHESTER NEW HAVEN, CONN.".
The top of the receiver and barrel have the stamped WP Winchester Proof markings. The right side receiver has detailed scrolling and serial number “C478769.
Winchester single-barrel shotgun, 26-36 in. full choke barrel, concave hammer spur, gold-plated trigger, updated Monte Carlo style checkering pattern on pistol grip and bottom of forearm, roll-engraved receiver, optional 36 in. goose barrel, 5 1/2-6 lbs. Approx. 391,168 mfg. between 1973-1980 in the Winchester plant in Cobourg, Ontario.
