The following items are documented belonging to the Sheriff of Northeast Texas County of Delta, from 1879-1885, Thomas A. Lambeth . In 1886 he was appointed Deputy U.S. Marshal for Northern District of Texas. 1. Colt Single Action 45; 5 ½” bbl.; nickel finish as lettered mgf 1883; all matching gun with good amt. of original nickel remaining; good bore, action, and grips; SN90681. 2. Remington Whitmore double bbl. 10 ga. solid gun with much wear; SN2034. 3. Original framed oil portrait of Lambeth; 25”x28”; very deteriorated; painted by a relative. 4. Original photo used as model for painting. 5. Framed original commission papers dated May 9, 1886 declaring Lambeth as Deputy U.S. Marshal. 6. Assorted newspaper clippings, papers, etc. 7.
