Winchester Model 1917 Rifle With World War Two Lend Lease History
Description:
The barrel date of this Winchester is 10-18. The serial number of this rifle is 466650. This Winchester is an all original rifle as issued in 1918. It has not been altered or rebuilt. Every part is Winchester coded. The bore is like new condition. This rifle shows very little sign of ever being issued. The receiver under the serial number has the Canadian "C Broad Arrow". The stock on the right side also has the Canadian " C Broad Arrow". The left side of the stock is stamped Royal Canadian Air Force "R. C. A. F.' with a serial number - 7 B 355. The stock and hand guard retain all of the original finish. There are no cracks or damage to the wood. The original sling is in near new condition. It is dated 1918 The plated oiler is in the stock with the pull cleaning tool. The Winchester bayonet is U.S. property marked and dated 1917. On the left side of the grip by the push button release is the Canadian "C Broad Arrow" property mark. The scabbard is in unissued condition. The Canadians painted the whole scabbard in their green field color. This Winchester retains 98% of it's original bluing. This is a real stunning Model 1917 rifle with historically interesting military history. To find a Winchester in this condition that has survived Two World Wars in almost unissued condition is astounding!
