Winchester Model 62 22 Short Gallery Gun
Description: This Winchester was produced in 1948. The rifle's serial number is 230595. This Winchester shoots the 22 Short only. The sights are original to this Winchester. The bore is in minty condition. The original bluing would rate a 98% and better. The only wear is by where the bolt is operated. There is still some shipping grease on the bolt face! The magazine tube has the correct cut out for the gallery speed loader. The reciever has the high polish finish that is seen on these models. The stock and forend retain all of the original finish. The wood would also rate a 98% condition. This rifle shows very very little use. This Winchester is in almost factory new condition! Most of these Gallery guns had the Winchester brand roll marked with red paint on the side of the reciever for advertising. This Winchester is one of the few that did not have this done. I also have a original Winchester speed loader that will go with this gun. There is also included, a new original barrel and magazine clamp with spring for tying down the rifle to the shooting booth. Also included is a original box of Remington Gallery Special Spatter-Less 22 Short Ammunition. It is a 250 round box. To find a Gallery Gun in almost unused condition with these accessories is a real find! Most if not all gallery guns have seen hard service and wear. They get knocked around in the booth as well as being transported from place to place and set up again. These Gallery guns also see more shooting and pumping than most 22's ever see in their entire service life. This is why the survival rate for these guns is quite poor.
